Malang has been a famous tourist attraction for Europeans since the colonial era due to its colder climate compared to other parts of Indonesia.
But when we talk about Malang in recent years, it has become a modern city with so many new tourist attractions to explore.
One of them is Kayoetangan heritage that is placed in the heart of Malang City.
The street itself is actually modeled after Malioboro Street in Jogja.
What makes it different are the various coffee shops and restaurants lined up with the design of old European architecture from the old buildings on Kayoetangan Street.
They didn’t demolish the old buildings, but they utilize them to become a unique attraction point.
If you are staying in the Tugu Hotel, you just need to walk for 5 minutes to get to Kayoetangan area.
The first thing you might see when you arrive is Lafayette Coffee and Eatery.
It is a white building that stood tall with glimmering lights and a fancy rooftop.
Worry not, the exploration of Kayoetangan Heritage starts from that point.
You can turn left, and you will find a whole new world in front of you.
A street full of crowds and people enjoying themself.
Also when you go at night, you will find people busking, singing live music together.
You will see merriment.
But of course, you can’t miss the culinary attractions.
